ghostbusters (2016) gets initial backlash from annoying nerd boys, studio slams their foot on the gas and says Ghostbusters is a feminist film with a feminist female womanly woman cast and supporting this multimillion dollar production is a feminist triumph.
Movie comes out it’s bad. Sorry. It’s not bad cuz of the acting— the actresses save it from being unwatchable. it’s not bad cuz of effects, set design, any of that shit that women worked on in the film that the marketing so fully shilled. It’s bad because of the directing, and the writing, both of which were done by a man…..none of this was feminist to begin with. It was all marketing to make people feel progressive by consuming big budget commodities. & like we have not as a society recovered
